AI NUTRITIONIST

Your personal nutritionist.
Always in your pocket.

Ask anything about food and glucose. The SNAQ AI Coach answers using your own meal history and CGM data, not generic advice. It includes AI carb counting from a photo, and goes further by connecting those meals to your glucose patterns over time.

The SNAQ AI Nutritionist is a conversational coaching feature inside the SNAQ app. Unlike general-purpose AI assistants that draw on public nutrition information, the SNAQ AI Coach reasons over your own logged meals and, when connected, your continuous glucose monitor (CGM) data. It surfaces patterns from your history, answers food and glucose questions in context, and suggests meal ideas based on what has tended to work for you. SNAQ is backed by published clinical evidence in diabetes, including peer-reviewed research in Type 1 diabetes and photo-based carb estimation, published in eClinicalMedicine (The Lancet, 2025).

WHAT IT DOES

Personalised, proactive, grounded in your data.

Ask about your meals, anytime.

"Why did my glucose tend to rise more after breakfast this week?" "Which of my usual meals have worked better before exercise?" "How have sushi meals affected my glucose before?" The AI Coach answers using your own logged history.

Surfaces patterns automatically.

"Your glucose has tended to respond better to oats than to rice." "You've spiked less on days when you eat protein earlier in the meal." Patterns appear from your own data, without you having to ask.

Suggests meal ideas based on your history.

Goal-aware meal ideas for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, based on what has worked in your past data, your preferences, and what's in your kitchen.

Built on clinical evidence.

Backed by a randomised controlled trial published in eClinicalMedicine (The Lancet, 2025). In the study, participants with T1D spent more time in their blood sugar target range. +6.6 percentage points Time in Range (the proportion of time glucose stays within a healthy target range). +13.4 percentage points postprandial Time in Range. No insulin changes required, no additional hypoglycaemia observed.

Common questions.

What is the SNAQ AI Nutritionist?
The SNAQ AI Nutritionist is a conversational coach inside the SNAQ app. It answers nutrition questions using your own meal photos and CGM data, surfaces patterns from your history, and suggests meal ideas tailored to your goals and preferences.
How is this different from ChatGPT or a general AI?
Generic AI answers nutrition questions from public information. The SNAQ AI Coach reasons over your actual logged meals and glucose history, so answers are grounded in what has and hasn't tended to work for you specifically, not generic advice.
Do I need a CGM to use the AI Nutritionist?
No. The AI Coach works with photo-based meal logging alone. Adding a CGM (Dexcom, FreeStyle Libre, or any monitor via Apple Health or Google Health Connect) makes its insights significantly more personalised because it can correlate meals with glucose history.
What languages does it support?
The AI Coach currently supports English and German. Additional languages are planned.
